The International Exhibition for Young Inventors dates back to 1904 when the Japan Institute of Invention and Innovation held their first national contest for schoolchildren in Tokyo. Similar to what was seen as priority many years ago, the Exhibition today aims to encourage creativity and innovative thinking in teenagers from all over the world. It gives participants a unique opportunity to show their worth and establish networking contacts. IEYI is designed to ensure a decent level of competition between young talents, help them pass on their knowledge to their peers, as well as to develop cooperation in the field of innovations between countries.

Russia has been taking in the International Exhibition for Young Inventors since 2017.
