The International Exhibition for Young Inventors dates back to 1904. It was first held by the Japan Institute of Invention and Innovation (JIII) in Tokyo and had a national character. In 2004, on the 100th anniversary of the Japan Institute of Invention and Innovation, the First International Exhibition of Young Inventors was held in Tokyo.
