Russia at International Young Inventors Award 2018
In 2018, to take part in the invention contest, over 300 students and schoolchildren from 20 countries came to Denpasar (Indonesia) to present their projects in front of the international jury of the International Young Inventors Award. The participation of the Russian team was made possible thanks to the support of the Gorodissky & Partners law firm. Young inventors from Russia managed to win 12 gold and 5 silver medals, as well as some special prizes and nominations:
IYIA Grand Prix coupled with a cash prize was awarded to the gold medalist Alexander Dudkov (Nizhny Novgorod) for his wind and solar powered robotic vessel model for autonomous monitoring of water areas.
IYIA gold medalist Maria Yaushkina (Saint Petersburg) won Best Impact Award for her visually impaired assistant device.
Other gold medals:
- Dmitry Zatekin & Vladimir Kirilenko (Moscow) for their cooler and vending machine service robot;
- Vladimir Krupa (Nizhny Novgorod) for his water surfact garbage collecting ecobot;
- Indira Kalimullina (Naberezhnye Chelny) for her posture monitoring device;
- Insaf Salakhov (Zelenodolsk) for his device for extinguishing fire using elastic capsules;
- Ksenia Belyaeva (Kazan) for her wave energy installation;
- Roman Khismatullin (Ufa) for his pet smart home project;
- Alexander Babushkin (Chita) for his smart donation box;
- Gleb Kharchenko (Nikel settlement) for his CO2 dual-circuit household refrigerator;
- Denis Tselikov & Anna Ryaskina (Monchegorsk) for their toothbrush disinfection device;
- Maksim Bushuev & Gleb Gorkaev (Sarov) for their driver fatigue monitoring system.
Siver medals:
- Gleb Voronov (Dudinka) for his magnetic levitation soap dish;
- Yunus Salmanov & Emilbek Sattarov (Norilsk) for their automatic glasses cleaning system;
- Vyacheslav Astafyev (Kaktolga village) for his universal agricultural seeder;
- Daniil Kabanov (Perm) for his unmanned aerial vehicle for radiation reconnaissance;
- Tamirlan Nagoev (Dygulubgey village) for his portable hydroelectric power station on car chassis.
We are very proud of our young inventors and wish them success in further development of their ideas. We would also like to thank the IYIA organizing committee for holding the event on such a high level. The participants got excellent opportunities to show their worth and establish networking contacts.
