PowerTech-2023 victory for the Russian team

Five teams of young design engineers from Russia took part in PowerTech-2023 STEAM-Star International (Overseas) Invitational Contest, which was held on December 16-17, 2023, in Taipei, Taiwan. The organizer of the competition is National Taiwan Normal University.

The competition traditionally was split in two parts with daily awards. The results of team standing which took place on the first day are as follows:
1st place: RoboGrade Industries Team – Laschikov Aleksey (16 y.o.), Toropov Dmitry (16 y.o.), Tyshlangov Arseny (13 y.o.) and Nabiullin Dmitry (15 y.o.), Novocherkassk;
2nd place: team "North" – Voitenko Stepan (14 y.o.), Nevzorov Nikolay (15 y.o.), Tagirov Spartak (14 y.o.) and Dautov Shamil (12 y.o.), Norilsk;
3rd place: team “RoboLab NSK” – Kiriyenko Elina (14 y.o.), Gavrilenko Daniil (14 y.o.) and Chaikin Kirill (14 y.o.), Novosibirsk.

During the second day of the competition the projects were evaluated individually. As per the competition rules, teams of up to 4 participants receive identical sets of parts and have 3 hours to construct three models with each of the three types of movement: walking, crawling and jumping. The models compete with each other in speed and skill in moving on an inclined surface. The results of the second day are as follows:
The best 4 support model: team “Float” – Ivan Firsov (16 y.o.), Pavel Zaitsev (12 y.o.), Polina Makarkina (14 y.o.) and Alexandra Vinogradova (13 y.o.), Vladivostok.
The best oscillatory motion model: team “Tesseract” – Loskutov Roman (14 y.o.), Shirokov Timur (13 y.o.) and Kudryavtsev Saveliy (14 y.o.), Monchegorsk.
The best crawling model: team "North" – Stepan Voitenko (14 y.o.), Nikolay Nevzorov (15 y.o.), Spartak Tagirov (14 y.o.) and Shamil Dautov (12 y.o.), Norilsk.
