Russian young inventors won eight medals at the IEYI-2025 in Japan
The IEYI-2025 (International Exhibition of Young Inventors) was held at the Wasse Exhibition Center on the grounds of the EXPO-2025 World Exhibition in Osaka, Japan, with participation of schoolchildren from 13 countries.
Russian team of young inventors presented 10 projects.
The international jury of the exhibition included Yuri Kuznetsov, Senior Partner, Head of Patent Practice at Gorodissky&Partners.
The projects were evaluated by the international jury according to 12 criteria, including creativity, functionality, application of the physics laws, market demand, patentability, environmental friendliness, and others.

Here are the final results of the Russian team:
GOLD MEDALS
Palas Tikhon (“Znaika” Private Secondary School, Moscow). Project “YONEXBOT”—a robot for assembling badminton shuttlecocks on the court.
Nazarov Nikita (School No. 354 named after D.M. Karbyshev, Moscow). Project “Table tennis robot coach,” which is designed to help athletes practice various strokes and serves, keep statistics, and develop adaptive training programs.
Gordeev Denis (Samara Medical and Technical Lyceum). Project “Algae-based plastic” The polymer developed by the Russian schoolboy consists mainly of carrageenan and zosterin, which allows the resulting plastic to decompose.

SILVER MEDALS
Vorontsov Ivan, Fesenko Vadim and Kopysheva Victoria (House of Scientific Collaboration n.a. Abrukov, Cheboksary). Project “SMART TorfTrak” — an unmanned system for safe peat extraction.
Andreychuk Oleg (School No. 47, Chita) and Ordinat Tikhon (“Pokrovsky Quarter” School, Moscow). Project “Dry Wind” - an automatic system for contactless cleaning of shoe soles.

BRONZE MEDALS
Simakov Nikita (Technical Education Center “Vorobyovy Gory”, Moscow). Project “Autonomous system for monitoring and maintaining climate parameters and CO2 concentration in a room”
Suchko Anastasia (School No. 1, Norilsk) and Belyaev Alexander (School No. 1554, Moscow). Project “Feel the Art”. It’s a dynamic bas-relief with movable tactile elements and touch recognition sensor technology, and the software reproduces an audio description of the section of the bas-relief that a person touches.
Gotopov Ayusha (“Aginskaya District Boarding School”, Aginskoye, Transbaikal Region). Project “The Cold Engine” is a circulation pump for engine cooling system.
SPECIAL PRIZES were awarded to:
Rodionova Anna (School No. 444, Moscow). Project “Robotic device for creating individual coffee sets.”
Sukhotsky Alexander (Technical Education Center “Vorobyovy Gory”, Moscow). Project “SmartSpray” - a precision plant spraying system that can recognize weeds in real time and apply herbicide with precision.
Gorodissky & Partners law firm and the Technopol group of companies are organizing a trip for the Russian team of young inventors to the International Exhibition for Young Inventors (IEYI) for the fifth time, and are also authorized representatives of the International Young Inventors Award (IYIA) and the PowerTech International Competition for Young Engineers and Designers in Russia.
The team of young inventors consists of children who passed the national selection organized by the Gorodissky& Partners law firm, as well as the winners of the national selection for the IMAKE engineering marathon organized by Nornickel company.
As has become a tradition, the Russian delegation includes the DanCo dance group, which performed at the exhibition's closing ceremony this year.
In 2026, the International Exhibition of Young Inventors will be held in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, Russia.
The Japanese National Exhibition of Young Inventors was first held in Tokyo in 1904 by the Japan Institute of Invention and Innovation (JIII).
Exactly 100 years later, in 2004, the annual Japanese National Exhibition of Young Inventors became international.
IEYI was first organized in 2004 in Tokyo by the Japan Institute of Invention and Innovation (JIII). Since then, the event has been held in Vietnam, India, Indonesia, China, as well as Taiwan, Malaysia, Nigeria, Thailand, and Japan. During the coronavirus pandemic, from 2020 to 2023, the international exhibition of young inventors was held online.
Young inventors from Russia participated in the IEYI for the first time in 2017 with the support of the Gorodissky&Partners, which received an invitation from the Japan Institute of Invention and Innovation and coordinated the participation of the Russian delegation.
