PowerTech
PowerTech is an international competition for young design engineers held since 1999 by the National Taiwan Normal University in Taipei, Taiwan.
The main goal of PowerTech is to develop children's scientific and technical creativity. According to the rules of the competition, teams of up to 4 young engineers are to assemble 3 electromechanical models from identical sets of parts distributed to participants before the competition. The electromechanical part of the models must ensure its movement in one of the following ways: multiple supports, oscillation, rotating wheels or crawling. The solution to these problems is designed to help schoolchildren understand the mechanics of structures and design a working robotic mechanism.
Participation in PowerTech presents an excellent opportunity to reveal children’s abilities in the field of scientific and technical creativity, as well as to prove that technical solutions do not have to be complex to be important, new and interesting.
