History of participation
Russian teams have been taking part in the International Competition of Young Design Engineers since 2018.
In 2018, 5 teams represented Russia:
- students of the Vector++ computer science school from Sarov;
- students of the Lanat scientific and educational school at Moscow State University;
- students of the Innopolis lyceum, Republic of Tatarstan;
- team of the Nizhny Novgorod Children's River Shipping Company;
- students of the Youth Innovative Creativity Center (YUCC) Yunost from Zelenodolsk, Tatarstan.
In 2018, young designers from Russia won the prize for best design in Taiwan. 
In 2019, Russia was represented by 7 teams from Moscow, Sarov, Nizhny Novgorod, Novosibirsk and Vladivostok, and two teams from Vladivostok (the AXIOM team and the Aircraft Modelers team) managed to enter the top thirty strongest teams in the competition and become the best among foreign participants.
Unfortunately, the competition was not held in 2020-2022 due to the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic.
In 2023, Russia was represented by 5 teams that worthily represented our country at the competition:
- Float (Aviators), Vladivostok
- RoboGrade Industries Team, Novocherkassk
- RoboLab-NSK (Lyceum 176), Novosibirsk
- North (IMAKE Norilsk Nickel), Norilsk
- Tesseract (IMAKE Norilsk Nickel), Monchegorsk
In the team competition 1st place was won by the RoboGrade Industries Team from Novocherkassk
2nd place was won by the "North" team from Norilsk
3rd place was won by the RoboLab NSK team from Novosibirsk
In the individual competition the best model, moving with the help of 4 supports, was recognized as the model of the "Float" team from Vladivostok
The best model moving with the help of oscillatory motion was recognized as the model of the "Tesseract" team from Monchegorsk
The best model that moves by crawling was recognized as the model of the “North” team from Norilsk
