History of participation
Russian teams have taken part in PowerTech International Contest for young design engineers since 2018.
In 2018, Russia was represented by 5 teams from Sarov, Moscow, Kazan, Nizhny Novgoro and Zelenodolsk. The young design engeers managed to win the prize for the best design.
In 2019, Russia was represented by 7 teams from Moscow, Sarov, Nizhny Novgorod, Novosibirsk and Vladivostok. The AXIOM team and the Aircraft Modelers team (both from Vladivostok) were listed in the top-30 and became the best among foreign participants.
In 2020-2022 PowerTech was not held due to the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic flight restrictions.
In 2023, Russia was represented by 5 teams from Vladivostok, Novocherkassk, Novosibirsk, Norilsk and Monchegorsk. The results of team standing were:
1st place – team "RoboGrade Industries" (Novocherkassk);
2nd place – team "North" (Norilsk);
3rd place – team "RoboLab NSK" (Novosibirsk).
In the individual competition, team "Float" (Vladivostok) built the best 4-support moving model; team "Tesseract" (Monchegorsk) built the best oscillatory motion model; team "North" (Norilsk) built the best crawling model.
In 2024, 7 Russian teams attended the PowerTech contest.
In the All-Round Tournament category, the winners from Russia were as follows:
1st place: team "Round Cubes" – Roman Loskutov (15 y.o.), Timur Shirokov (14 y.o.), Veronika Zhikhareva (15 y.o.), Monchegorsk;
2nd place: team "Nord" – Stepan Voitenko (15 y.o.), Nikolay Nevzorov (16 y.o.), Spartak Tagirov (15 y.o.), Norilsk;
3rd place: team "Field Experiment" – Alexey Lashikov (16 y.o.), Arseny Tyshlangov (14 y.o.), Nabiullin Dmitry (16 y.o.), Novocherkassk.
In the IoT Tracing (Pick & Go) category, the winners from Russia were as follows:
1st place: reinforced team "Round Cubes" – Roman Loskutov (15 y.o.), Timur Shirokov (14 y.o.), Veronika Zhikhareva (15 y.o.), Saveliy Kudryavtsev (15 y.o.), Artem Obukhov (15 y.o.), Monchegorsk;
2nd place: team "Siberian Bears (RoboLab NSK)" – Elina Kiriyenko (15 y.o.), Daniil Gavrilenko (15 y.o.), Kirill Chaikin (15 y.o.), Novosibirsk;
3rd place: team "Nord" – Stepan Voitenko (15 y.o.), Nikolay Nevzorov (16 y.o.), Spartak Tagirov (15 y.o.), Norilsk.
