Russia at International Exhibition for Young Inventors 2017
The 13th International Exhibition for Young Inventors was held on July 27-29, 2017 for students and schoolchildren aged from 6 to 19. Authors of more than 200 projects from Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Malaysia, Thailand, India, the Philippines, China and Hong Kong, as well as other countries flocked to Nagoya (Japan) to take part in the event. It was also the first time for Russian young inventors to become a part of major international exhibition.
That year, IEYI apart from the individual inventors booths featured also major Japanese sponsor corporations exhibition areas, including Toyota Motor Corporation and others. To demonstrate the high level of the event, a number of high-ranking officials were invited, including government representatives.
Despite having no previous experience of participation in such exhibitions, Russian young inventors showed good results and earned quite a few medals:
Silver medal: Maxim Bushuev (Sarov) for his autonomous robotic car model.
Bronze medals:
1) Dmitry Zatekin (Moscow) for his adaptive interaction robots for the Moon and Mars exploration;
2) Stepan Lapshinov (Moscow) for his robot that can perform work that is dangerous to humans;
3) Irina Maslennikova (Perm) for her compact portable fracture fixating device;
4) Maria Yaushkina (Sarov) for her autonomous system for determining the direction of a sound source.
